Adult Chamber Music Play-In

Saturday, October 26

We invite adult instrumentalists to enjoy the enriching experience of making music together on a Saturday morning! Participants will be placed in Chamber groups to play through repertoire and will gather at the end of the morning for a larger group play-in. Kindly register and submit your answers by Friday, October 11, as this will allow time for us to form groups and select music.

Yelena Beriyeva, Piano Inspirations

Award winning pianist and CCM faculty member Yelena Beriyeva will perform Brahms’ introspective and penultimate piano work Klavierstücke, dedicated to Clara Schumann, followed by Debussy’s Estampes (“Prints”) inspired by sounds of the middle and far east. The program will conclude with Mussorgsky’s iconic Pictures at an Exhibition, a musical narration of the composer’s visit to an exhibit of artist Viktor Hartmann and depictions of his paintings.

Open to bluegrass players at all levels – guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, dobro, bass, singers, and also to those who just want to listen. Join Max Anderson as he calls the tunes, posts the charts and leads the group (at a manageable speed) through the great repertoire of tunes and songs from the bluegrass tradition.

Meet
Jackson Carruthers

Jackson Carruthers is grateful for the opportunity to dedicate his life to playing the piano and sharing his passion with others. As a teacher, he aspires to instill a similar sense of joy in his students. This guiding philosophy shapes his entire approach to pedagogy. When working with beginners, Jackson employs a classical foundation, focusing on note reading, technique, and theory. He is also adept at teaching a range of genres, including gospel, jazz, blues, rock, and pop.
